Mateo Lamuño is a Spanish actor based in Los Angeles, California with an extensive background on the NYC stage and a solid training in both Theater and Film.
Mateo arrived in America to study at HB Studio, New York, graduating from its Conservatory Core Program. He later trained at that same studio with Academy Award winner Mercedes Ruehl, Broadway Actress Tina Benko, Fitzmaurice Voicework Master Teacher Ilse Pfeifer, and Speech Coach and Master Teacher Erik Singer, among many other industry leading artists. Further training in NYC includes workshops with Frantic Assembly (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) and The Raúl Julia Professional Training Unit at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater.
Before arriving in New York, Mateo graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid (ranked #1 University in Spain) and studied acting at Madrid’s top Acting Studio and Laboratory: William Layton’s Theater Lab, where he learned the foundations of European theater from Master Teachers Begoña Valle and Arnold Tarraborelli.
Mateo has performed in several Off-Broadway productions and short films. Most recently as the lead in Verano, verano, a landmark play of Puerto Rican theater that so far has earned him nominations to the Latin ACE Awards and the ATI Awards in NYC. He was previously nominated to the ATI Awards for his work in Gazoline. He’s currently a company member at IATI Theater and keeps busy working on both coasts and internationally.
